各位IT界朋友：
支持本土IT產業 擴充本地內地市場
上星期的七一大遊行在風雨中結束，不過對IT界朋友來說，對梁振英政府的不滿又何只政制問題。上星期我和業界人士包括「首選香港創新科技」等向媒體展視香港已經擁有的世界級網絡保安科技開發者，要求政府加強採用及向各界特別是中小企業推廣，以協助香港改善網絡安全。
然而，業界也不會空等。為促進香港資訊科技方案供應商進入內地市場，並向內地資訊科技用戶推廣相關服務，香港資訊科技商會 (HKITF) 現正為業界進行一項名為「香港資訊科技方案互動名冊」計劃，為了解有關香港資訊科技業最新狀況進行調查，並會製作網站，提供平台向內地推廣本港資訊科技方案。我誠邀所有香港IT公司參與是次問卷調查，請多多支持！
另一方面，香港電腦學會聯同香港生產力促進局，舉辦「雲端運算成功案例展示」計劃，收集成功例子製作成短片，介紹和鼓勵更多企業採用雲端應用。活動歡迎各行業的雲端用戶參加，獲選企業更有機會出席講座分享成功經驗。活動將於七月底截止，各位IT界朋友千萬不要錯過，立即按此報名！
此外，坐落在深圳南山半島西部的前海2010年被國務院提升為國家發展戰略，計劃2020年建成國際級的現代服務業體系，重點發展金融、物流、信息、科技和專業服務。這會否為香港ICT界帶來什麼新機遇？我將於7月25日晚上7-9時舉辦討論會，邀請資訊科技業界了解前海發展，並探討香港資訊科技業界如何把握前海發展機會，歡迎參加！

Dear IT friends,
Supporting Hong Kong IT industry to expand local and mainland markets
Hundreds of thousands of July 1 marchers braved downpour to protest against the CY Leung government, but our friends in IT have more than just constitutional concerns on their minds. Last week, I joined my IT industry colleagues, including "Hong Kong Innovative Industry First," to present our own world-class network security developers to the media, and demand the Government to further adopt local products and promote to SMEs, in order to help improve network security in Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, the IT industry is taking matters into our own hands. To facilitate Hong Kong IT solution providers enter the mainland China market and promoting their solutions (including services), Hong Kong Information Technology Federation (HKITF) is implementing the 'HK Digital Interactive IT Solution Directory' Programme. It includes a survey and creation of a directory of Hong Kong IT solution providers. I invite Hong Kong IT companies to participate in the survey and support this meaningful programme.
On the other hand, Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS) and Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) are organising a ‘Cloud Computing Success Stories Showcase’ to produce a video showcase of cloud computing success stories in Hong Kong, to inspire business users with exemplary cases of enterprises adopting cloud applications. User companies of cloud computing solutions in Hong Kong are all welcome to apply before end of July, join here!
Finally, the Qianhai Cooperation Zone, located in west peninsula of Nan Shan, Shenzhen was originally approved by the State Council in 2010, and will be developed into international modern service industry hub specializing in finance, modern logistics, information and technology services and other professional service industries. What will this mean for Hong Kong ICT industry? I will organize a discussion session about Qianhai (Cantonese speaking) on 25 July 7-9pm to invite members of the IT industry to learn more, discuss and explore ways to grasp opportunities in Qianhai.
